Why Aquaponics?

Aquaponics brings STEAM to life by showing a living, breathing example of what can happen when people work with nature to grow their food.Woodland’s new aquaponics lab offers students hands on STEAM experiences with real world connections. Not only will students be learning how to grow plants without the use of soil, they will also be farming fish! Woodland’s aquaponics lab takes it a step further by allowing 4th and 5th grade students to crossbreed fish to see how genetics and traits work. As if all of that is not awesome enough, the aquaponics lab has smart monitoring, which allows Woodland to compare their aquaponics lab to all of the other labs that HATponics has created.
